Our “Island Attitude” Purchase Policy

The ScubaGear Store remains in business as a direct result of your business. Without it, there would be no purpose for a purchase policy, or a website to publish it on. We want our customers to be satisfied with their purchase, and do our best to provide the highest quality products with the best Customer service in Canada. We appreciate your patience and understanding 

All unused, re-saleable, regular priced goods may be returned for a full refund (less shipping) within 30 days of purchase. Goods must be returned in the original packing and accompanied by the original receipt, and will be gladly accepted without a restocking charge. Shipping costs to return items will be at the customers expense. Returns are NOT accepted for used gear, special order, sale items or masks and snorkels (for hygienic reasons)

After 30 days, all eligible returns will be refunded (less shipping) and a 15% restocking fee may be applied at our discretion. In the case of warranty returns, the Customer is responsible for all shipping costs.


We have found that the most cost-efficient shipping is provided by Canada Post. Should you wish your order to be sent via alternate methods, please specify in the order notes. Orders in excess of $250 (before taxes) will be shipped free of charge to most towns and cities in Canada. Please use the Freeship code at time of purchase. Does NOT apply to oversize/overweight items. Should the costs of shipping be in excess of our normally experienced rates, you will be informed of the additional charges by email within 24 hours of your order being placed. Shipping is always charged at actual cost.

For orders less than $250, your shipping is calculated by weight and package size. For certain goods there may be additional freight charges due to your delivery area, or the item size or weight. We will do our utmost to identify these charges for you at time of purchase.

Processing Your Order

Although we strive to provide your items to you as quickly as possible, there will be times (e.g. Holiday Seasons) where it may be difficult to get your goods to your door in a specified period. Additionally, based on item availability, manufacturer’s stock levels and or the availability of custom orders, we may not be able to ship within these specified time periods.

Please be patient with us, as we will do our best to get your order out to you as soon as possible. In the event an item is out of stock with the manufacturer, we will do our best to provide an anticipated delivery for your order. Should the item be long lead, or should the item be unavailable at the time of order placement, you will be given an option to accept an alternative item, or simply cancel your order with a full refund.

Please understand that items may not be available at all times with the manufacturer due to product design changes, stock supply levels, or for  unknown reasons beyond our control.

Expedited Deliveries

Should you have a trip coming up soon, or if you have a need to receive your goods in an accelerated time frame, please give us a call. Depending on the availability of the products on your order, we may be able to get your shipment to you as early as overnight. Please understand there is an additional charge for this service, and it may not always be possible to meet your requirements.

Un-anticipated Damage

Although we take great care to package your goods in a manner that ensures they are received in good order, sometimes items shipped by a carrier are received by a customer with incidental damage. Should this happen to your shipment, please give us a call or email us with photos of the damaged item. In the event your package has been damaged in transit, it is your responsibility to contact Canada Post for any problems or concerns relating to the damage of items.We can assist in supporting your claim, and are in business to make your online shopping experience positive.

Exchanges and Returns

In the unlikely event you are not satisfied with your purchase, or it is not what you had expected, returns are accepted within a 30 day period. Items must be returned unused and in the original packaging. After the initial 30 days after purchase, all returns will be provided in the form of an in-store credit less original shipping costs. Should your original order have qualified for free shipping, your return may incur a $15 administrative fee. Please note, this does NOT apply to previously wet gear purchased on our online store, which are sold as-is, without warranty. Please note we try to accurately describe the condition of our previously wet gear to the best of our ability, items such as dry suits are not tested for leaks prior to being sold. Refunds for special-order items will be provided in the form of an in-store credit less original shipping costs. Please contact us to obtain a return Merchandise Authorization before shipping your items back to us.

Special Orders

We are a Genuine Authorized Canadian Dealer for all products we well in our store, and products are supplied direct from the manufacturers’ warehouses. Certain items are considered a “Special Order” and are non-returnable without a restocking fee once the order has been placed. Feel free to call us to discuss a restocking fee on a particular item, or if you have any additional concerns before placing a special order. In the unlikely event that an item you have ordered is not in stock, we will inform you within 48 hours and you will have the option to cancel your order.

Insurance/Shipping Time

The items you order from the Scuba Gear Store in Calgary, Alberta will normally be shipped by Canada Post Expedited Parcel.

We do NOT insure your package for more than the standard $100 Canada Post coverage unless the additional liability coverage was specified and paid for at the time of your order. In the event your package has been lost in transit, it is your responsibility to contact Canada Post for any problems or concerns relating to damage or non-delivery of items.

Upon confirmation and receipt of payment for your order, you will receive a Canada Post Tracking Number that can be traced on their website

We require a signature confirming receipt of your delivery. Should the delivery have been unsuccessful, or for some reason Canada Post was unable to obtain your signature please call Canada Post directly at 1-866-607-6301 using your tracking number for additional instructions to receive your shipment. Please do NOT contact The Scuba Gear Store, as we will not have the most current delivery information available..

Fraud Prevention

We at The Scuba Gear Store are interested in maintaining your online shopping safety and privacy. We do this by shipping only to a verified address, and we require a signature from you in accordance with our terms of shipment.

We do not keep your credit card information on file, and we only use reputable payment processing portals such as Elavon or Paypal to process your order.

This is done to protect you, our valued Customer, and to prevent a purchase using a stolen credit card to a fraudulent address. If you have any questions, please contact us by email or phone.

Taxes Charged

Any applicable GST or HST will be added to the order based on the delivery destination. PST is not applicable for any purchases made from addresses within Alberta. Our CRA GST Registration number is 857836654RT0001.
